Service Agreement
Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming Motto: Caring for animals isn't something I just do, it's who I am.Pet safety is our number one TOP priority! All measures are taken to ensure your pet has the most safe, comfortable and positive experience here at Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming.
New clients are required to pay a Non-Refundable 50.00 deposit with the first booking. This deposit does come off the total cost of the groom and can be transferred one time should you need to reschedule. However if there is a no show or a cancellation it is Non-Refundable. If you have any concerns about our service please don't hesitate to reach out.
Please note we groom from our private residence. We expect the same level of respect from our clients coming to our home as if we were to come to yours. Please Do Not show up without an appointment. Please DO NOT explore the property; we are renting space and most of the property belongs to the landlord(s). Please ensure your pet is leashed with a collar or harness that it is fitted properly. Thank you for your cooperation.
Pets are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances: The pet is fit and healthy. Grooming which takes place on an elderly, or infirm pet will be at the owner's risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions on any pet of any age which Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming cannot be held liable for.
If the pet is aggressive or geriatric and requires extra handling, or equipment to safely manage the groom, there will be an extra charge for the physical work load and increased appointment time, this is NOT negotiable. Owners are NOT allowed to assist with their pet(s) as per our insurance policy.
All vaccines, including rabies, must be up to date (as required by law) or unless otherwise discussed.
General policies for grooming:
In the event of a pet emergency, the groomer will reach out to you by phone to pick up your pet for transportation to your Veterinarian. If you are not reachable, you authorize Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the medical care deemed necessary by the Veterinarian at your expense.
PAYMENT is required at the time of pickup, when the service is completed, and before the pet is surrendered. Payment is to be made with CASH or E-TRANSFER. Quotes can change at the groomer's discretion. Our rates are based on the weight of the pet, condition of the coat, behavior, and our years of experience and skill set.
Nail cutting, grinding(file), and ear cleaning are included with all bath packages and full grooming services unless the process is too stressful for the pet, or too dangerous for the groomer.
We do NOT offer anal gland expression; this procedure should only be performed by a licensed veterinarian.
“De-matting" or complete coat removal (shave down) will dramatically alter your pet's appearance. This procedure may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions. "De-matting" by brush can cause extreme discomfort and brush burn. In extreme cases of matting the pet is at risk for possible bruising, hematomas, and cuts for which Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming cannot be held liable. Your dog is not "embarrassed" when a groom like this is necessary, but rather may feel some cold or discomfort as their coat has been completely removed. Some irritation is likely to happen and it is the owners responsibility to ensure the proper measures are taken to avoid any issues such as hot spots. After a de-matting, do not allow your dog to excessively lick or scratch areas of their body. A cone may be needed to ensure they are not creating wounds that will require veterinary care.
We DO NOT and WILL NOT shave down or take clippers to a double coated breed (For example, Golden Retriever, Husky, Pug, Chihuahua). If your pet requires this procedure for health reasons, the owner will need to provide a letter from their Veterinarian. However, it will be the groomers decision to proceed or redirect you to your Veterinarian.
In the event that a dog is too aggressive or showing extreme discomfort, you may be asked to have an exam done by your Veterinarian to rule out any underlying health issue. Should a health issue be detected at the grooming appointment, services will stop immediately and you will be contacted. For example, a groom may be stopped if an injury is found, concerning skin issue/lump, breathing issues or ear issues. For extreme aggression a sedation groom may be necessary. We offer a 2 day (48 hrs) guaranteed satisfaction of service. If you are not happy with something, we will gladly fix what we can within 2 days of the initial groom, at no extra cost. The pet must stay clean during these 2 days. Working on a dirty coat damages the equipment we use so if the pet is dirty a bath fee will be charged.
Clients are expected to be available throughout the entire time of the appointment. You will receive a 20 mins heads up that your pup is ready to go home, and the total cost of service. Times given on when a pet will be ready can change. The entire schedule can be affected if clients are late dropping off/picking up or if a pet is difficult, uncooperative or there is significant matting that was not expected from your pet, or another pet in the appointment before. Please be patient while we work as quickly and safely as possible to get your pet back to you. When a client continually contacts the groomer about when the dog will, or should be ready it creates stress for the groomer and the pet. If the groom is rushed then the pet may be given back as is, and payment will be required in full. Working fast is not safe for groomer or pet; your patience is necessary.
Cancellations/No-shows
Not canceling in time for us to fill the appointment, gravely affects our small business. You must contact Beautiful Dogs Grooming to cancel appointments, otherwise the appointment will be considered a no show and 100% of the grooming cost will be billed. A new appointment will not be booked unless this fee is paid.
We require 72hrs (3 days) notice for canceling or rebooking. You will receive 1 reminder 5 days before your appointment and you are asked to confirm or cancel with no penalty. If you confirm then your next reminder will be 8 am on the appointment day. If you are canceling within the 3 day window, 50% of the base grooming service will be owed prior to booking a new appointment. If you have more than one dog booked, and both are canceled with less then 3 days notice. Than 50% of the base price service will be owed for each dog.
Same day cancelations and/or no shows, will be required to pay 100% of the base price of the groom for all dogs booked. If the client is 15 mins late for drop off, the appointment will be canceled and the no show fee of 100% of the base price groom will be charged. If a client has cancelled an appointment 3 or more times, prepayment for the groom will be required at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom if we feel the need to do so. Please remember there is only ONE groomer. The groomer may get sick, or receive an injury that could put them out unexpectedly. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer.
Pick-Up
Clients are expected to be available throughout the entire time of the appointment. Times given on when a pet will be ready are approximate and can change. If the groom is rushed the pet may be given back as is, and payment will be required in full. Working fast is not safe for groomer or pet; your patience is necessary.
Pickups that exceed 20 mins will be subjected to a day boarding fee. The client will be contacted with a 20 minute notice for pick up. An additional 10 minute grace period is provided giving clients 30 minutes to pick up their pet after initial contact has been made. Example: client receives their 20 min heads up at 1pm for pick up. This makes pick up to be 1:20pm giving the client 20 mins for pick up after contact. Pickup by 1:30pm does not result in any late fee. Pickup exceeding 1:30 will result in a boarding fee of $35.00.
As much as we love to spend time with your pets, we have a small work space and can not offer that one on one attention when pets are here waiting to be picked up.
PARASITE CLAUSE
We do not take parasites lightly, and extreme measures are taken to ensure there is no spread to other clients pets or our own animals. Safety first ALWAYS.
Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming does not accept Fleas, we will however accept Ticks. All other parasites will result in the pet being sent home and will not be accepted back for grooming until there is clearance from your Vet. There are extra fees in place to take care of fleas and ticks as they are a parasite and require special attention for your pet and all other pets coming into the salon.
These fees are NOT negotiable.
In the event these parasites are found on your pet you will be notified and the fees detailed below remain should you choose to proceed with the groom appointment or not. You may choose to not proceed with the groom that day, and reschedule 7 days after parasite treatment is given. We advise that all steps are taken to ensure there are no more parasites on your pet to avoid receiving this fee again.
We STRONGLY recommend pets stay up to date with flea and tick medications. These medications also help to prevent other health problems for your pet.
We take extreme precautions to be absolutely certain there will be no spread to other animals. Parasite precautions include canceling all subsequent appointments for the rest of the day to ensure no parasite transfer, fumigating the whole salon, cleaning and disinfecting all equipment and re-bathing your pet(s) in a flea shampoo as well as health and safety procedures for the groomer. In addition, all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned again the following day to ensure no chemical residue gets on any pets coming into the salon. We are extremely strict on this policy as we want to keep every dog that comes into our salon safe including our own pets given that our grooming salon is connected to our home.
FLEAS
In the event a dogs has fleas, a sur charge of $200.00, on top of the grooming cost will be applied. NO EXCEPTIONS!
This charge is to compensate for the lost revenue due to canceling all the other appointments of that day, the extra cost in product and labor in re-bathing the pet and the extra cost in product and labor to sanitize the salon to protect other pets and the groomer. These safety measures are not optional as we must guarantee there is no chance of spreading fleas to other animals.
Should the client choose not to proceed with the appointment if fleas are found you must pick up your pet promptly and you will be charged the $200.00 plus whatever services had been completed. For example, if the bath was done and fleas were discovered during the bath, the amount owed will be the bath plus the flea charge as product was still used and time and labor still commenced for the initial service. If your pet cannot have the flea shampoo, you will still be charged the $200.00 and be asked to pick up your pet immediately. Your pet will be sent home wet in order to contain the parasites as much as possible. Drying the pet with the dryer will cause fleas to fly all over the salon, increasing the risk of spread.
If you consent to the flea bath for your pet, you MUST NOT TREAT YOUR PET with any other FLEA MEDS for 7 DAYS. The flea product we use is good for 7 days. Please consult your Vet for further action. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us.
TICKS
For ticks there is a charge of $5.00 for each removal, unless they are found dead. When a live or dead tick is found, we will bag and show owners the hitch hiker. It is the client's choice if you want us to destroy it or if you want to take it to the Public Health department for testing. Your Vet can not test the tick for disease however you may wish to discuss with your Vet about having your pet tested for disease and the best course of action for treatment.
AGGRESSIVE/BEHAVIOR DOGS
In order for us to do our job properly with your dog. We must have trust. At the end of the day your dog and "I" are co-workers, we need to be able to work together to accomplish the task at hand. Owner(s) will be responsible for following all instructions to help make this "nightmare" not just a dream but a reality. We are a consent based dog grooming salon. We specialize in working with dogs that have not been desensitized, aggressive, nervous and fear reactive dogs. Dogs that other groomers can not manage are welcomed here with open arms!
We have very strict rules and policies, that are non negotiable and MUST be followed in order to ensure safety for both the dog and groomer. Client(s) MUST inform us at the time of booking if their dog has any behavioral issues. Please understand that grooming is a very invasive and involved service. We are all up in their business and sometimes even the friendliest of dogs do not appreciate this. Some dogs are great for parts of the groom, but may not like their nails done, or ears cleaned, or feet touched. Some dogs need time! We work with your dog, not against your dog. This could result in longer appointment times as we do not force dogs to do anything. We believe dogs should have a say in how they are being handled and how they are being groomed/treated. Due to this we have a very high success rate on helping dogs with behavioral issues. We help them realize grooming is just a natural part of every day life, and can in fact be a fun relaxing day at the spaw!
Please read the following: Clients MUST inform us if their dog has a bite history.
An added fee of $25.00 is added should a muzzle be required. More often then not a dog will fight to have the muzzle removed and this effects our appointment time. Due to this we only use a muzzle if we feel safety for your dog or the groomer are in jeopardy. Again our goal is to work with your dog.
Reactive/aggressive dogs will have an extra charge STARTING AT $50.00. Understand we are putting our own safety at risk to help your dog get the grooming care they need. Not many groomers do this because the risk is not worth the reward. In the event a bite takes place Clients are responsible for all medical supplies and medications.
We require behavior dogs to be on a proper schedule of 8 weeks or less. This schedule is determined by the dog! Yes, by the dog. Some may require weekly visits and then eventually graduate to every 2 weeks and so forth. Some are stressed out by this and require not so often but still frequent and regular visits. We are very transparent about your dog's needs. It is in everyone's best interests not to push your dog past their threshold. Clients are required to adhere to the schedule given. Failure to do so can result in termination of services and any future appointments.
Some dogs may benefit from desensitizing work that will make grooming much less stressful for them. For this, we recommend 'hang out days"; there is a $30.00 fee for this work. Your dog will come in and we work on training in baby steps. This work has been highly beneficial in so many cases. Understand this is grooming training not obedience training. We require all clients to take our professional advice seriously. We are putting ourself at risk to help your dog with something that will be part of their life, for the rest of their life. So lets set them up for success!
If the pup is injured due to their own behavior, Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming cannot be held liable. Owner(s) understand accidents can happen, and every precaution and safety measure will be made to the best of our ability to avoid an injury. Any injuries that were caused due to poor behavior will be at the owners expense.
Nail trim services
Nail trims are included in all full groom packages, bath & tidy packages, and bath packages. This service is completed unless the service is too stressful for the dog or becomes unsafe for the groomer. This does not change the price of the Pawdicure. A dog that may fight for this service could result in a serious injury. Therefore we may terminate the service, and require a more frequent schedule with grooming training. It is highly recommended to have a nail maintenance done once a month (every 4 weeks). However, some dogs may require more often.
Pets are accepted for nail trims under the following:
- Its not too dangerous for the pet or the groomer.
- The pet is well to perform the service and there are no injuries to the pet.
- Client(s) understands that even though all safety measures are taken. Accidents can still happen. If an accident happens due to the dogs behavior, client understands that Beautiful Dogs Pet Grooming cannot be held liable.
- A quicked nail can be cared for by the groomer, unless otherwise advised to seek veterinarian attention.
- A dog with high reactivity such as (fear, anxiety or aggression) has a higher risk of being injured during this service. Client(s) understands their dogs behavior can not be held against the groomer. Client(s) understand the groomer will work to the best of their ability, and work appropriately with their dog. The pet will not be rushed, belittled, talked down to or smacked. We do not abuse dogs to make them cooperate regardless of what the owner says works.
